Custom Stainless Steel CNC Machined Sensor Housing

Drawing-defined stainless-steel CNC sensor housing with an external thread, axial bore and wrenching flats.

Custom Stainless Steel CNC Machined Sensor Housing

Zhengna Technology supplies drawing-defined stainless steel CNC sensor housings for assemblies that require a threaded mechanical interface and an internal bore. The actual product shown here has a cylindrical body, an external male thread, an axial opening and wrenching flats. Its stainless-steel grade, thread specification, dimensions, tolerances, sealing requirements and inspection plan remain controlled by the customer drawing and application requirements.

Actual stainless steel CNC machined sensor housing with external thread axial bore and wrenching flats
Actual Zhengna Technology stainless-steel sensor housing. Visible geometry is confirmed; grade, thread, dimensions, sealing and test requirements remain drawing-defined.

This separation is important during sourcing. A product photograph can establish the part family and visible interface features, but it cannot establish a thread standard, pressure rating, leak result, surface finish, corrosion class or end-use approval.

What the Current Product Evidence Establishes

Item Confirmed for this product Must be defined by the RFQ and drawing
Product identity Stainless-steel sensor housing Sensor type, measured medium and assembly function
Visible geometry Cylindrical body, male external thread, axial bore and wrenching flats Diameters, lengths, wall thickness, thread size and interface dimensions
Manufacturing family Custom CNC machining Exact turning, milling, drilling, deburring and secondary-operation sequence
Material Stainless steel Grade, condition, material standard and certificate requirement
Acceptance Drawing-led technical review Tolerances, gauges, sampling, reports and functional tests

The visible geometry makes this product different from a generic open cylindrical housing. The threaded connection, internal passage and wrenching area must be reviewed together because each feature can affect assembly access, datum selection and inspection planning.

Drawing Review for the Threaded Sensor Interface

The RFQ should identify the thread standard, nominal size, pitch, class or fit, thread length, runout area and any required entry chamfer. A buyer should also define which face or diameter establishes the assembly datum and how the thread relates to the internal bore.

The photograph does not establish whether the thread is metric, BSP, NPT, UNF or another form. It also does not establish whether the interface seals on the thread, a shoulder, an O-ring, a gasket or another feature. Those details must come from the controlled drawing and mating-component requirements.

If the housing connects to a pressure-containing or fluid-contact assembly, the quotation package should state the medium, operating and test conditions, sealing concept, cleanliness requirement and required validation. Zhengna Technology does not assign a pressure or leak rating from the photograph alone.

CNC Process Planning for This Geometry

A part with this visible form may use CNC turning to establish the cylindrical surfaces, axial bore and thread preparation. The wrenching flats may require a milling or turn-mill operation, depending on the drawing, batch quantity, workholding plan and available tool access. This is a manufacturing-planning reference, not a claim about the exact machine sequence used for the photographed part.

The process review should connect the external thread, bore and wrenching section to a consistent datum strategy. Important questions include:

  • which surface locates the part in the final sensor assembly;
  • whether the bore is through, stepped or terminated by an internal shoulder;
  • whether the thread and bore require a concentric relationship;
  • how much wrench clearance is available during installation;
  • which edges require a drawing-defined chamfer or burr limit;
  • whether the stainless-steel grade creates specific chip-control or work-hardening considerations; and
  • whether passivation, cleaning or another surface requirement applies after machining.

The approved manufacturing route can be confirmed only after the drawing, quantity, material grade and acceptance requirements are reviewed.

Inspection Planning Before Quotation

The inspection plan should be matched to the functional interfaces rather than copied from another housing. Typical review points for a threaded sensor housing include:

  • external diameter, overall length and shoulder position;
  • bore diameter, depth and any internal step;
  • thread form, pitch, size, class and usable length;
  • relationship between the thread, bore and locating diameter;
  • wrench-flat width and position;
  • entry chamfers, edge condition and burr limits;
  • surface roughness only where the drawing defines it; and
  • sealing or functional tests only when the agreed product specification requires them.

Possible measurement methods may include a thread gauge matched to the approved thread specification, dimensional instruments suitable for the stated tolerance, and a documented first-article or sampling plan. No particular gauge, inspection frequency, tolerance result or functional-test result is claimed for this product until the order scope confirms it.

Stainless-Steel Material and Surface Requirements

“Stainless steel” is a material family, not a complete purchasing specification. The RFQ should state the exact grade, material standard and condition. If the application requires passivation, cleaning, traceability, material certification, restricted substances or a defined cosmetic surface, those requirements should also appear on the drawing or purchase specification.

The photograph shows a metallic machined surface but does not prove the grade, passivation state, roughness value, corrosion performance or acceptance result. These items should remain separate from visual product identification.

RFQ Information Needed for a Reliable Review

For a useful quotation, send:

  1. a controlled 2D drawing and available 3D model;
  2. drawing revision and sensor-housing function;
  3. exact stainless-steel grade, standard and condition;
  4. thread standard, size, pitch, class and mating-part information;
  5. bore, shoulder, sealing and wrenching-interface dimensions;
  6. critical tolerances, datums and geometric controls;
  7. surface roughness, edge, passivation and cleanliness requirements;
  8. prototype quantity, order quantity and expected annual demand;
  9. inspection, first-article, gauge and report expectations;
  10. pressure, leak or functional-test requirements, if applicable; and
  11. packaging, handling and traceability requirements.

If a specification is not yet defined, identify it as open during the RFQ review instead of allowing the supplier to assume a standard that may not match the assembly.

Evidence and Capability Boundary

This page uses an actual Zhengna Technology product photograph and the confirmed stainless-steel sensor-housing identity. It does not claim a universal material grade, tolerance, thread standard, surface finish, pressure rating, leak rate, inspection frequency or sensor application. Project-specific manufacturing and acceptance evidence must match the released drawing and agreed order scope.

For the broader machining route, review custom CNC machining parts. For measurement planning, use the CNC dimensional inspection and RFQ guide.

For the thread, bore, sealing interface and acceptance information needed before quotation, use the CNC sensor housing RFQ guide.

Request a Drawing Review

Send the drawing, stainless-steel grade, thread specification, quantity and inspection requirements to Zhengna Technology. The engineering review can then confirm whether the geometry fits the available CNC route, identify missing interface or acceptance information and prepare a quotation scope.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is confirmed about the photographed part?

It is an actual stainless-steel sensor housing. The photograph visibly shows a cylindrical body, an external male thread, an axial bore and wrenching flats.

What stainless-steel grade is used?

The current evidence confirms only the stainless-steel material family. The exact grade, condition and document requirements must be stated in the drawing or RFQ.

Can the thread standard be identified from the photograph?

No. The thread standard, nominal size, pitch, class, thread length and sealing relationship require a controlled drawing or approved mating specification.

Does this page claim pressure or leak performance?

No. Pressure, leak, flow or functional-test requirements and results are project-specific and must be defined and verified under the agreed inspection or validation plan.

What should a buyer send for quotation?

Send the controlled drawing, material grade, thread and bore requirements, critical tolerances, surface and sealing requirements, quantities, inspection expectations and any required pressure or leak test.
