Verify the certificate itself

Review the legal entity, manufacturing site, certificate number, issuing certification body, validity dates and stated activities. Confirm that the site and scope relate to the operation being considered. A certificate presented by a group company, another location or a different activity should not be treated as evidence for the proposed supply route without clarification.

Keep a dated verification record and define who rechecks the status before nomination or production release. If the certificate changes, expires, is suspended or does not cover the intended site, route the issue through the buyer's supplier-approval process rather than assuming that a logo or PDF remains current.

Separate system scope from part approval

A quality-management system provides a framework for controlled processes, records, corrective action and change management. It does not prove that a particular die, material lot, dimension, coating, inspection method or production rate meets the released project requirements.

Part approval remains tied to the drawing and specification, feasibility review, approved process flow, tooling status, control plan, measurement method, material evidence, sample results, deviations and customer-specific requirements. Build the stamping RFQ around the drawing

Provide the controlled drawing and available 3D data, material and temper, thickness, annual and lot quantities, critical dimensions, burr direction, surface finish, cosmetic zones, packaging, program timing and required approval evidence. Identify which file governs if the model and drawing differ.

State tooling ownership, maintenance responsibility, storage, change approval, spare inserts, end-of-life handling and transfer rights. If existing tooling or customer-owned data is involved, confirm file permission and confidentiality before transfer. Do not attach customer drawings to a public inquiry or public evidence page.

Define project-specific inspection and release

Name the critical characteristics, datums, gauge or method, sample quantity or frequency, record format, traceability and acceptance authority. If PPAP or another customer approval package is required, identify the requested level or elements, submission timing, responsible parties and customer-specific requirements. Do not assume one package fits every buyer or program.

Separate prototype learning, tool-trial evidence, first-article review and production-lot release. A prototype can help test geometry without representing the final tool, material or process. A first article can document the released configuration without proving every future lot. Production control needs its own sampling, reaction and change-notification rules.

Review changes after nomination

Agree which changes require notification or approval, including material source, tooling revision, process sequence, sub-tier supplier, manufacturing site, inspection method, packaging or software used for automated inspection. Define containment and escalation when a deviation, nonconformance or certificate-status issue appears.

The purpose is not to collect the largest possible file set. It is to connect each record to a buyer decision: supplier approval, feasibility, tool release, part approval, lot release, change approval or corrective action.
